This winter sees the 75th anniversary of the Bodyline series, and to mark that Cricinfo has a package of items to commemorate what was a landmark tour that still raises strong opinions in England and Australia.

We will be running articles throughout over the next few months, but for now we start with a day-by-day tour diary covering more than five months on the road, a wealth of photos, a dummy’s guide to Bodyline, a special Quote …Unquote section and much more.

New search facility

Posted by Andrew Hall on 12/20/2005 in Latest Features

You can now search the web direct from Cricinfo. Simply select "the web" and use Cricinfo's normal search box, which appears in the top left and across the bottom of most pages.

Web search facilities are powered by Yahoo Search. Users in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and India will each get local search results relevant to their particular country.

Cricinfo's own internal search facility is also driven from this box, so this is the best way to find players, articles or images anywhere on Cricinfo.

Try it from the Cricinfo homepage

Posted by Andy on 12/01/2005 in Latest Features

Cricinfo is excited to announce the launch of a new blog, Different Strokes.

Different Strokes is a group blog of a selection of non-professional cricket writers, whose work we have noticed in different places over the last few months, and who have agreed to showcase their skills on this particular platform. They all have their own styles and bring their own perspectives to their writing.

Wicket to Wicket

Posted by Andy on 11/13/2005 in Latest Features

Recently launched is Wicket to Wicket, Cricinfo's discussion blog.

It's rare for people to talk about cricket without argument taking place. Mention a cricketing topic, and opposite points of view spring forth, each passionately advocated and cogently argued. These arguments are part of the fun of following the game. Sitting with friends and arguing about the merits of technology in umpiring, and Dravid v Ganguly, and whether Flintoff is better than Botham is often quite as much fun as watching this great game itself - and we intend to have some of that fun on this blog.

On Wicket to Wicket, cricket writers will, by invitation, get together and discuss stuff. We'll pick issues and ideas that are somewhat nuanced and that generate good discussion. (There'll be no "Is Robert Mugabe good for Zimbabwe?" kind of discussions, for example.) And we'll have fun with them. So click here to find out more.
