India may play extra Test in Napier

India's tour schedule in New Zealand is yet to be confirmed but speculation swirls over the accommodation of extra matches. The original proposal was for two Tests, five ODIs and a T20 game but there are now reports of a third Test in Napier, and an additional Twenty20 game. Cricketnirvana and the Times of India said the initial arrangement will be amended to include the extra Test.

The extra Test cannot be accommodated at the back end of the tour itinerary because of the IPL season, so NZC officials are reported to be considering scrapping the three-day warm-up match in late Match (at the end of the ODI series and before the first Test in Hamilton). The schedule is expected to be confirmed over the next 48 hours.
