India v England 2008 (update)

The squads for the two Tests to be played in Chennai and Mohali respectively have been announced today. It's time then to ring in the transfers. You've got till December 10th to finalise your fantasy teams. Good luck and do make it a point to check out the latest from the series home page. Adios.

PS: Keep in mind that England are a lot better at Test match cricket than ODIs. One thing for sure, the English bowlers will be a lot more effective in the longer version of the game. It's important that you factor that in when rejigging your fantasy teams.

Well I agree that england are a much better team in tests but we would have to wait and see if the full strength team plays on field.
If Flintoff, harmison are fully fit they would cause problems. However they do lack quality batsmen in indian conditions- The middle order led by pietersen and the openers have to be a blend of aggresion and caution. They might have to make quick changes if some players dont do well-Bell and collingwood seem to be the target batsmen whose place would be in doubt. Their failure would give a chance to in form owais shah who impressed in his debut in india.
The other problem i foresee for england is their weaker mental strength. Would they play to full potential when they are worried about their safety in view of the terror threats.
Also India seem to have few problems currently having beaten australia and are full of confidence. However if england play their best, they have a chance to draw or win the series. Monty would be the key alongside pacemen.

This is my team
1. G Gambhir
2. R Bopara
3. O Shah
4. Yuvraj Singh
5. V Sehwag* tp
6. L Wright
7. M.S. Dhoni
8. G Swann
9. M Panesar
10. A Mishra
11. Z Khan

As you can see I have a possible 4 players who wont play the matches. So please help me. What changes can I make to make this team better?

Avinash says: I don't think both Swann and Monty will play. You're better off picking only one of them. Also, you might want to take a rain-check on Luke Wright. The rest seem okay to me. I wonder what the other Fantasy managers think.

You almost can't pick a team without a player who probably wont play. The prices for certain players across the board of all teams are starting to get too high to keep it to 1000000

Avinash says: Hi Rob, tend to agree with you and I'm trying to solve the problem for future games. Thanks for ... umm, trying.
