I didn't pick Sachin

I didn't pick Rahul Dravid. I didn't pick Sourav Ganguly. I didn't pick Anil Kumble. In fact, the only player I picked from the 'Fab 5' (four plus Kumble, not Sehwag) was Laxman. Maybe I should pick Sehwag. I'll be back. What's the hurry? I've got unlimited transfers till October 9. But I still won't pick Sachin. And you?

My team: 'The Community Managers'
MEK Hussey (Trump Player)
VVS Laxman
G Gambhir
MJ Clarke
SC Ganguly
SR Watson
MS Dhoni
Harbhajan Singh
B Lee
MG Johnson
I Sharma

You won't pick Sachin? :O

Obviously, that's to make sure that this post gains viewers. Evil, yet effective technique. My suggestion.. pick Sachin. Any sane person would.

I've completely same mindframe as yours. Among Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly,Laxman,Kumble and Shewbag....I've only picked Laxman. However, I've this gut feelings that I wont be too wrong.

I picked Gambhir and Sehwag as they will be getting the new ball to play and the best chance to score runs, the rest are always under pressure these days, either to score runs or to save their wickets. I also picked Dhoni. Better still, if you are confused make two teams..:)

Thats absolutely a wise move. I will be happy to be proved wrong, as I always do, but I wont pick Sachin either. The old saying "If Lillee doesnt get you, Thommo will" can be applied to Sachin as "If Fitness doesnt trouble Sachin, Form will". A superstar like him should have retired gracefully when he started facing trouble with his ankle, back, tennis elbow and what not.
Laxman, well yes for the Aussies, Dravid, perhaps due to his doggedness, but Sehwag is a must in any test match cricket.

How do you feel after picking your fav FAB, Laxman?

Avinash responds: Not very happy, Sir. But I hope he comes good. His 100th Test will be the one in Nagpur. That's assuming they don't drop him for the Kotla Test and take 3 spinners. In which case, one of the batsmen will have to go. And I fear it will be Laxman.
