Sri Lanka v India 2008 series - TLU

The XI Downing Streets

LPC Silva
TM Dilshan
RG Sharma
DPMD Jayawardene
SR Tendulkar
V Sehwag (TP)
KC Sangakkara
BAW Mendis
Z Khan
I Sharma
Harbhajan Singh

What do you think of the name of the team, the team and the sad fact that a 3-Test and 5 ODI match series has only 6 transfers?! I think after all that hard work, I need a drink. And a second opinion on team selection from the new, improved, Random Team Picker (RTP).

Hi Avinash,

If you ask for my team I would mostly prefer this:
1> Murali
2> Mendis
3> Kumble
4> Harbhajan
5> Vaas
6> Kartick
7> Gambhir
8> Laxman
9> Samaraweera
10> Vandort
11> Shewag

Batting looks a little bit slim but still I choose for this side only.

Hi,

For my first team I went with:
1. Gambhir
2. Tendulkar (TP)
3. Jayawardene
4. Sangakkara
5. Laxman
6. Samaraweera
7. Vaas
8. Z Khan
9. Harbhajan
10. T Thushara
11. Mendis

Solid, safe, and quite balanced I think...My second team is more spin focused:

1. Gambhir
2. Vandort
3. Jayawardene
4. Tendulkar
5. Samaraweera
6. Karthik
7. Vaas
8. Harbhajan
9. Z Khan
10. Murali (TP)
11. Mendis

I look forward to any feedback.

I've just come across this blog, good stuff.

But where is Murali in that team? He has to be in there, just for the potential he has to blitz zn innings. Before the first Test I asked myself if I could afford NOT to have him....the answer was "no".
