Pakistan Test at Lahore
I'm Anand Vasu and it will be my pleasure to bring you commentary
of this match
The Gadaffi Stadium is all set, and the players from both teams are
waiting to put the hype and speculation behind them and let the
battle of bat versus ball begin
There has been plenty of talk about the pitch and let's see what it
holds
The pitch looks bone dry and has plenty of vertical cracks on it -
typically subcontinental
There was much talk of a greentop, but that does not seem to have
materialised
Also, there's no dew on the outfield, and this means the ball will
travel well off the surface and also that play can start on time
Experts have suggested that the ball will take plenty of turn in
the course of this match and that there will be some assistance
for the spinners from the first day itself
Onto the teams now ... something that has threatened to overshadow
everything else: Will India play Sourav Ganguly or not?
The buzz is that Ganguly will be in the side as an opener,
partnering Virender Sehwag ahead of Gautam Gambhir and Wasim
Jaffer
We're just waiting for news from the toss with details of the teams
and who will do what first

Inzamam-ul-Haq has also confirmed that Shoaib Malik will open the
batting
Dravid admits that he would have batted first had he won the toss
