The ECB has confirmed that Surrey cricketer, Usman Afzaal, has received three penalty points under its discipline code following an incident during Surreyâ..s County Championship match against Yorkshire on May 21 to 24, 2008.

Afzaal was reported by umpires Nigel Cowley and Graham Burgess for a Level Two breach of the code (showing serious dissent at an umpireâ..s decision by word or action). The penalty points remain on Afzaalâ..s record for a period of two years. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
