Stewart Walters, the Surrey batsman, will miss five to six weeks of the season after suffering a fractured cheekbone while playing for the second team against Essex.

Walters wasn't part of the first XI in the early-season games, but was hoping to push for a spot after a promising winter playing club cricket in Australia.
