Worcestershire have failed to attract Ashley Noffke, the Queensland allrounder, to New Road for the 2008 season.

"We believe we are no longer in the running for him," Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton told The Press Association.

Noffke is enjoying a golden season for Queensland where he has 31 wickets from six Pura Cup matches and over 500 runs. He made his Australia debut in the Twenty20 international against New Zealand in Perth.
