Essex beat PCA Masters XI

Essex beat a PCA Masters XI in the first of two Floodlit Cup matches in three days at Chelmsford.

James Foster’s 47 formed the basis of Essex’s 161 for 7 and although Nick Knight and Andy Flower gave the PCA Masters a solid start they were unable to press on and only managed to reach 143 for 6. James Middlebrook took 3 for 18 off his four overs.
