Derbyshire bowler Kevin Dean has signed a new one-year contract, committing him to the club until the end of 2009.
Dean, the 31-year-old left-arm seamer, boasts a first-class record with 387 wickets at an average of 26.37 and this season he has taken 23 wickets in ten matches at an average of 28.65.
He is Derbyshire’s longest serving player having played his first match for the county back in 1996. He was awarded a benefit year in 2006.
John Morris, Derbyshire’s head of cricket, said: “I am delighted to have Kevin on board as he has been a great servant to the club, he still has a lot to offer and he is everything that we want.”
