Hassan Adnan, the Derbyshire batsman, was not offered a new contract and has left the club after five seasons.
Adnan, 33, played 65 first-class matches for the club scoring 3678 runs at 35.36. He never matched the prolific form he showed in 2004 when, in his second season, he scored 1380 runs at 51.11. In 2007, he averaged just 21 in 11 matches.
“It is never a nice time informing players that they have to go," John Morris, Derbyshire's director of cricket said, "especially when it is such a loyal servant and great team man as Hassan has been to Derbyshire."
