Crawley lifts Hampshire to victory

Posted on 08/02/2007 in

John Crawley may have missed out on a hundred but his unbeaten 97 helped Hampshire to a last-over win against Nottinghamshire under the lights in Tuesday’s Pro40 match.

While David Hussey was making his 81, Notts looked set for a big total, but his dismissal at 197 triggered a mini-slide, leaving them with a still-sizeable 214. Crawley led from the front, though, and his opening stand of 88 with Michael Lumb (53) gave Hampshire the edge at the Rose Bowl and they eased home with five balls to spare.
