Pakistan XI to play charity game in Ireland

Posted on 05/17/2006 in Ireland

A charity game between a star studded Pakistan professional XI, and an Irish XI selected by Adrian Birrell, will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at The Hills Cricket Club. The game will begin at 1pm, and is to raise funds for the former Hills overseas player, Ijaz Farooqi, who now resides in Ireland, and is seriously ill.

The Pakistan XI contains Shahid Afridi, the most explosive player in International cricket, and his team mates include internationals Wajahatullah Wasti and Naved Latif. The Irish XI is expected to contain most of the players involved with the current Irish squad, with a few special guests from the professional ranks.
