Great efforts by Brian Lara, as I think he is the best batsman in hisotry of test matches. Now he is providing oppurtunity to others shows his love for cricket. I think his batting tips are very useful for others.
Why he is so special because he proved himself in all conditions against all strongest opponent like his 213 and 153 not out against Australia.
If otehrs players will introduce cricket in others countries like him, cricket will become more popular all over the world. Thanks to him that he is fulfilling his responsiblities even after retirement. Now due to introduction of Twenty twenty, also many teams are coming in cricket. Very soon cricket will be play in atleast 20 countries, if the things are going in the same manner.
Why he is the best as so many will say that Bradman is the best due to average 99.94 but when you will see big picture, you can also say Lara is the best as Bradman played 80% of his innings against the same opponent.
I think both are legend.

And Uganda U-13s have just beaten Tanzania U-13s by 8 wickets to win the ACA/EA junior title. Kenya came third in the competiution played at Greensteads School, Nakuru, Kenya. Uganda are really in the driving seat now - at Under-19 and Under-13 level. And Lara's inspiration is going to drive them even father forward. Wait and see!

Brian Lara s arguably the greatest batter the world have ever seen. Such is his popularity, that even our President, Mr. Obama, documented his private meeting with him in his diary.

I wish he will visit the USA ans spread this noble game here.

As a West Indian, I am delighted to see Lara doing something positive. Hopefully, this will inspire more Africans to take up cricket and if they do and with good coaching and facilities and a bot of $$$.... watch out!! Would not surprise me to them move ahead very quickly and provide a real challenge to the established powers, especially in 20/20 and the like.
I am a purist at heart, but 20/20 is what will attract the non traditional cricket countries and potential fans.

Lara is one of the most humble and graceful cricketer we have seen on and off the field. This act of his will definitely attract young generation of Uganda toward’s the game cricket. Well done Lara.

I grew up in Uganda, and learned my cricket at Ntare School. I am happy Brian has been down there, and I hope he has inspired a whole generation of new kids to play.
When I played down there, we were inspired by watching guys like Lara on TV, so I am sure the kids down there are very thrilled about seeing Lara.
It definitely would have been a world of good to me as a kid going to Ntare back in the day.

Amazing Lara is now proving himself on this side also. Other players should also take example from him. At international level there are not too many teams as compare to football. Now it is self responsibility of them to do something like Lara did.
Some one said that duing batting he is selfish, if so how he made 153 not out and also 213 against Australia. Before it, 277 runs against them in 1993, this is his first century in test. So many ocassion he proved himself. Why they lost so many matches because bowling line after Walsh and Ambrose is almost finished. I think he is last prince of his team.
Why he is the best among all reason is that
1. Stylish 2. Highest no. of records
3. Situational 4. Take pressure of main strikers 5. Scored in every corner of the world 6. Ability to play every type of bowling 7. Only complete man in test history who is comprises of each and every thing.
He played on 45-50 grounds against 50 or more bowlers took 100 or more wickets in careers.

I was there! It was truly cool to be around Lara on the same cricket field. He stayed for a few hours, organised a mini-coaching camp, and even whacked a few balls into orbit! Will never forget that I bowled a ball to Mr. Lara (which he didn't launch into orbit!).

Very nice to hear brian doing good things for the kids. He is truly the greatest to play the game. His flair and style is unmatched.

Many thanks to Lara that he did something for others as the world is full of people but very few did something for others. If these teams will introduce themselves by consent of ICC in any twenty twenty tournaments at first stage then we can easily get more than 20 teams at international level in twenty twenty very soon. After that introduce some better teams in one day too. In this way in coming decade, we will have very interesting cricket.
This is one Brian Lara, if others ex- players will do the same then I think we will get very good results.
Such an elegant batsman with more than ten records comes in cricket once in a century or may be more as I think that no one can match his status in test with him. He is ahead of every one, he proved himself in every corner of the world against every type of bowling.
When he scored 153 not out against Australia, attack was comprises of Warne, McGrath, Gellispie and MacGill.

What is the percentage of PIO (People of Indian Origin) in Uganda cricket Team? I initially thought that most of the Uganda players are Afrikans.

Being in Uganda and playing the great game, the attetion to the game and corporate interest this visit has brought about has rejuvinated the vibe around cricket in the country. The corporate companies are interested in raising funds for the game and i believe the UCA can ride on this momentum to spread the game especially to the grassroots. Way to go UCA. Thank you for an opportunity to share moments with the prince.

Brian is a true ambassador to the game. His accomplishments on the field are unparalled and his commitment to the game is unquestioned.

It is really nice to see persons from other countries appreciating Brian and what he has done for cricket and West Indies cricket. I am West Indian and it peeved me when I heard some of the negative comments made about Brian Lara because like all humans he faltered from time to time. And those comments were coming from West Indians when the rest of the world was really giving the guy his due. His legacy will forever live on, and I sure miss the flair and class he showed on the cricket. Cricket needs more Lara's. With the exception of Sachin Tendulkar there are no real class batsmen left....

2. Stylish batting
3. Mostly turning matches in team's favor
4. Ability to turn match from worst situation.
5. Correct batting technique with high back lift
6. Ability to play according to situation of match (aggressive and also defensive, both qualities)
7. Tackle the pressure of main strikers. Never tried to avoid them, always scored against main strikers.
8. He scored every continent as he scored centuries against all test playing nations.
9. Quality to dominate spinners like complete domination on Murlitharan.
10. Same quality to dominate fast bowlers too if he lost his wkt 15 times to McGrath but he played 24 test against him.
11. Ability to create master peace innings like 213, 153 not out and others
I do not think that anyone can match his status with him in batting because of these reasons.

Soon twenty twenty has 16 teams. For having same it is responsiblity of ex-players to do something.

Ganga said at one ocassion that Lara gave suggestions to him how to play but now he was not giving suggestions. Might be Lara felt that he was not improving.
When he scored 196 and 176 against Africa, one ex-player of his team said he is selfish, if some one is scoring 39% of his team then I may ask that player what other ten players were doing. It is not the responsiblity of one player, it is responsiblity of all players to do something for his team.
Amazing guy with 150 or plus scores are 19 in which 175 or plus scores are 15 then 9 double hundreds are there.
I think he had greatest tendency to score big knocks as compare to any other test player of cricket history with one quintuple (501) in first class also.
