Denmark beat Netherlands by eight runs in a one-day international in Brøndby.
Denmark’s opening pair - Freddie Klokker and Michael Pedersen – put on 212 for the first wicket as they made 264. Klokker finished with 119 and Pederson 81, but once they had been separated the innings fell apart, Tim de Grooth ripping through the middle order with 5 for 43.
Netherlands maintained a steady pace in their chase, but Lars Hedegaard put the skids under the lower order with 5 for 40. Even so, they needed a very gettable 12 off the final over.
Its great that denmark won cause they have some talented players like freddie flokker. everytime i check hes always got loads of runs for his team!
And beating a team which qua;ified in the world cup is a good achievment!!!!!

Good that the Danes won with native grown talent, rather than overly depending on Pakistanis.

more development needs to be done with both countries, the match barely made either local news, a football match between the two countries would have hit headlines everywhere, icc need to get their damn act together, if only they increased the world cup teams for 2011 rather than cutting it, these guys could show their skills to the world and then things could go somewhere from there...

It's good to see two teams with mostly homegrown players competing. I think continental european cricket will become better if they enter a team into the english competitions, like Ireland and Scotland have. Ryan ten Doeschate, a ducthman, is already good enough to play for Essex, and I'm sure Klokker could make it to a county team.

First off, congratulations to Denmark on their first win at home since 1972. It will do wonders for the confidence of the team.
Next, while i agree Denmark have some talented cricketers, and they could most certainly rival some of the top ranking associates, they have not developed the game within Denmark to a sustainable level. To develop the game fully in Denmark it is a long road, they need to develop from the ground up. I also disagree with expanding the world cup. I think it should only ever be increased if there are more test teams. Simply because the overall quality and spectacle that is the World Cup will diminish.
Well done to Denmark, keep pushing and one day your country will get there.

The best part of the story is that neither of Danish openers, who had a double-century partnership, is from the Asian origin.
With Denmark still in contention qualifying for 2011 World Cup, now one can say that their World Cup qualification is not a distant dream.
