Is Richmond in the United States about to get its first cricket pitch?
Since she became mayor, Lawson said that in addition to the miniature golf course, the city has built a “chip and putt” course for beginning golfers and outdoor basketball courts.
“I have been happy to seen that many of our Hispanic residents have begun using the Lake Reba basketball courts,” she said. “I think the next thing we may do is create a field for playing cricket. We’ve had so many requests from cricket players. I never realized how many we have. That shows just how diverse our area has become.”
We need such developments in New Jersey. New Jersey does not have proper cricket fields or a governing body for cricket. I wish I lived in LA, where cricket blossoms each day.

While it is certainly good news for Richmond, there are at least ten other places around the USA, including Cupertino, Woodley Park and the Kirigin Cellars in California, as well as Denver (CO), where municipal authorities are working with community cricket activists in developing first-class playing fields for cricket. This has been going on for the last five years, so Richmond is a comparative newcomer to the field. Don't get me wrong-- I am glad that Richmond is joinung in the effort. But the work of others who have preceded Richmond should not, I believe, be forgotten. Just my personal opinion.

I am pleased to inform that Omaha, Ne of all places has first class cricketing facilities. We have a concrete cricket pitch and also two practice strips. All these have been achieved by the singular devotion and yeoman effort of Mr Bhaskar Krishna. He has proved that if you have the will you can make cricket bloom at the most unlikest places. Guys move to Omaha, great cricket awaits you

My worry is, when will stake holders in Nigeria Cricket really come together, work together to take their cricket to a geater height.
Now, all hands are on deck. The newly constituted technical committee of the Nigeria Cricket Federation led by Mr. Kwesi Sagoe has a blue print for cricket development which is key to our success in becoming African or World giants as thought by Mr. Hossain Ayub.
A lot of thanks to Mr. Hossain Ayub for his contribution to the growth of cricket in Nigeria.
All Nigerians should be proud of Howzat Foundation For Cricket for taking cricket to the grassroots and are working hard to sustain it.
Corprate sponsorship is key to this kind of development. We must try to get it.
Let us be synergetic in our approach to cricket development in Nigeria.
