Nepal aim high

Posted on 07/03/2007 in Nepal

The official site of the Asian Cricket Council carries an interview with Binaya Raj Pandey, the president of the Cricket Association of Nepal. Since he took over in September 2006, things have started happening and major sponsorships have been announced, domestic cricket has been revamped and work has started on a new training centre for national cricketers.

We can play in the Asia Cup and the World Cup. We can win senior finals. Right now we are semi-finalists in things like the ACC Trophy. Our U-19s have beaten four Test-countries at U-19 World Cups.

Most people have had access to cricket through the TV and sports channels like ESPN, STAR, Ten Sports and even Doordarshan. So they do know a little bit about the game and how it’s played. But the stumbling block at this time is that there is a lack of cricket grounds. But once these are provided it will much easier for us to teach and train them.

I am a cricket lover born on Nepal currently residing in Netherlands. I praise the progress that Nepal has made in the current past . Bust still it is not sufficient. The CAN must be serous and prepare tournaments regularly for players, schools and colleges and the selection must be made. Then the progress can be convenient. The first intention of the Nepali cricket must be to be participated at the senior world cup and show the world about Nepal. Nepali cricket must learn a lot from other countries also who have developed in a very short time. see the techniques and sacrifice of the other teams as well. It would be great to cheer for Nepal in the world Cups.

I am a cricket lover of Nepal from Kathmandu. What i personally believe is that the thing have changed after Binay Raj Pandey has been the Chairman of ACC and i personally feels that we can surely be in 2015 world cup.But one thing that makes us feel bore is that the arabian country like UAE,Qatar and even Singapore have players from other countries most probably South Asian with whom we can't compare. But then also we have been able to beat them. And i am sure we will be the next south asian country representing in world cup.

I am a cricket lover of Nepal from Kathmandu. I believe that there is no lack of talent in cricket in Nepal . We have beaten four test playing countries like South Africa( twice) ,Pakistan ,Newsland ,Bangaladesh. But I feel Cricket associan of Nepal(CAN) ,Acc and Icc are not properly recognized the of Nepal cricket. Our players have to leave to play cricket due to lack of life security.they can't live only playing cricket. They have to go for job for their life security. there are too many cricket leagues in India( Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy) pak, england,etc...,but nepalese cricketer are not getting opportunities to play against them .So lack of life security and competitive cricket ,nepal appears weaker in senior level.
Acc and Icc are not giving priority to nepal cricket . probably they are giving more priority to Malayaisa ,UAE. I think ,these countries are rich than Nepal ,but these countries don't have cricket fans( cricket knowing people).Icc should know that Indian Cricket is more professional than Newzaland criket. so only richness is not enough ,spetators( cricket supporting people) are the basic sources to promote cricket.I believe beyond the test world ,Nepal has maximun spetators to support to cricket.

I am a great fan of Nepal cricket team . I believe that there is no any lack of talent in Nepalese player but the cricket organization CAN is not paying the attention to the players .If CAN did not pay any serious then Nepalease cricket is on the way of dark so as soon as possible CAN and even government should be serious on the nepal's cricket.our player have emotion , divine power, tallency, and strength which is shown beating SA , Newzland and other test playing country .CAN doesn't organize any tropohy in Nepal like RanjiTrophy, Duleep Trophyetc.

But we are great that we are able to qualify in U19 world cup becoming first in asia [non test playing country]we are fifth in ICC ranking in Asia .

I am also the great fan of Nepal cricket team.i just want to say that one day Nepal will definitely win world cup if the players plays well.

Nepal in U-19 is one of the best team but is not able to prove in seniour level its not because of CAN only but also due to the business motive nature of ICC and ACC.These organisations r interested in development of cricket in USA and China but not in Nepal.ICC should leave the trade and come to cricket.

nepali cricketers will definitely win the league division 5 to go to the division 4... and it is for sure that nepal is going to play with the world's giant cricket team like srilanka, pakistan and australia in the upcoming world cup cricket.
