Bermuda's Royal Gazette has reported that the indiscipline of the national team, which was of concern for some time before the World Cup, has grown worse in the two months.
In the four weeks since training restarted for the national side, only three players - Irving Romaine, Kevin Hurdle and Lionel Cann - have bothered to attend, with another, Dwayne Leverock, absent because he is recovering from a tonsillectomy. A further three players - Dean Minors Saleem Mukuddem and Clay Smith - have retired.

why on earth would you not turn up for the national team, seriously, if bermuda was my home country and i lived there i would have no squarrels playing for the national team, have some bloody pride boys and get your sorry behinds to training its no excuse to miss it, im sure if i was invited to train there would be no problems in saying yes. just think of what others would like to do in your place, if you cant make training then give your spot to the future because you cant obviously cope with being in the team.

Bermuda's a nation where we just can't afford to pay our players. Have decent leagues and whatnot. For goodness sakes these men have jobs and families. We are also plagued by amateurish attitudes by governmental officials and the overall Bermudian society. What a quandary. Most of our athletes just don't have the mental makeup to become world class sportsmen. Its a mental quality over a physical one. So in essence it is a near miracle that these boys made it this far. So give them a break cricket world.

Why are you all worried about what happens in Bermuda cricket? So many of you have written us off in the past. To get to the World Cup was a major accomplishment with the small pool of players we have. I do not think any other country this small with so little quality players to choose from will ever grace the World Cup again. Here is the reality folks. It was a major sacrafice for the country, the Board and the players once we qualified for the last World Cup. Players were taken out of work, days and months were taken from families and major sacrafices had to be made all around. There is no way the older players in the team are going to be willing to go through this again. Reality is it took us as a country almost 30 years to get to the World Cup. So what are the chances of us doing it again so soon with so much stacked up against us. However, the way to go is to invest in the under 19's and mold them with the players that are training. If we as a country are to blossom we need to put things in place from a semi professional bases, but on a permanent bases. Bermuda is unique and we made it to the World Cup and no one can take that away from us. Well done Bermuda!!!!!

Maybe the boys know that there time is up. As u can see they were mostly in their late 30s. they think its time to let the younger members of the team hold the fort. As a young Bermudian Cricketer I know that it was hard for these guys to leave their families for months at a time because I have talked to some of them. They are not paid by the government and the have regular 9-5 jobs plus a family. Know some of them are coaching their club teams. How much more do we want them to do?

Most of the minnows country facing the same problem with the players,they work 9 to 5 but the cricket board must have a vision for the future if they want to beat the big cricket nation.So you must invest in junior cricket u15 u17 u19 and school cricket.World cup is history.Disciplines in batting,bowling,fielding and outside is must to become a champion
