Row follows election of Uganda new chairman - Beyond the Test World at Cricinfo

This will be Kibuuka-Musoke's second time as chairman after an earlier stint in 2001 that was prematurely curtailed with a vote of no confidence. But one journalist described his election as the "biggest joke".

Writing in New Vision, James Bakama described Kibuuka-Musoke as “an abrasive man”. He continued: “[In his youth] he was a loose canon of sorts. Stories of him going for opponents' heads instead of the stumps were also common, just like tales of his rugby fights at Makerere University. Those who are skeptical of the new chairman feel he never matured from this past and is therefore not fit to be in Uganda's top cricket office.

“He outwitted a group that wields a lot of influence. They not only have good connections to sponsors, but also call the shots as regards the national team. But how come these heavyweights were floored at the poll? Insiders attribute the revolution to a protest vote against the Tornado powerbrokers.”

Let's give Mr Musoke a chance, since he happens to be very passionate about the game.We've already seen developments from him such as the new grass wicket at Kyambogo University & do hope for more since he's still actively playing for Tornado B at the age of 60!

The construction of the grass wicket in Kyambogo started before he was elected so don't give him undue credit. He is the worst thing to have happened to Uganda cricket this year and this is going to be very costly. This man and controversy are extremely compatible - a case in point is the distasteful story in yesterday's New Vision, by the way expect more.

The year has ended and you have seen it for yourselves. He has bullied everybody in his executive, secretariat, selectors, council and abbrogated the constitution. Carried a tourist on every trip just to appease his voters at the cost of development programmes. This is the only year that we have had more than fifty people play for the senior side in just four tours. Gentlemen take heed from Namboole and throw the bastard out before the noble game of cricket goes to dogs.
